Company Overview
AIT Global is recruiting on behalf of our client for an established payments project. This is an urgent requirement with an immediate start for Test Analysts who combine solid manual testing discipline with hands-on automation experience in a payments environment.

Position Summary
The Intermediate Test Analyst will support the execution of UAT, regression testing, defect validation, and release readiness activities across POS and mobile (iOS/Android) payment applications. The role requires payments and POS industry experience, ISTQB certification, and practical automation and scripting capability to contribute to the project's automated regression coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Support execution of UAT, regression testing, defect validation, and release readiness activities.
• Test POS and mobile payment applications across iOS and Android platforms.
• Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases in line with project specifications.
• Contribute to automated regression capability to improve release quality and reduce manual effort.
• Perform backend and database validation using SQL.
• Log, track, and validate defects through to closure, working closely with developers and business stakeholders.
• Support release readiness, deployment validation, and post-release verification activities.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum and structured (STLC/SDLC) delivery processes and ceremonies.

Skills & Experience Required

• Payments industry experience (mandatory).
• POS (point-of-sale) testing experience (mandatory).
• iOS and Android application testing.
• Programming/scripting exposure: C++, Java, SQL, XML, HTML.
• Experience with UAT, regression testing, defect validation, and release readiness.
• ISTQB certification (mandatory).
• Test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira, HP QC/ALM, Confluence).
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies, STLC and SDLC.

Advantageous

• UI automation exposure (Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Appium).
• API testing (REST/SOAP, Postman, SoapUI) and JSON/XML payload validation.
• Automation frameworks (Page Object Model, Data-Driven, BDD/Cucumber, TestNG).
• CI/CD exposure (Jenkins, Maven, Git).

Working Conditions / Environment

• Hybrid work model: approximately 3 days per week on-site in the Randburg/Sandton area (to be confirmed closer to start date).
• Contract duration of 8 – 12 months.
• Fast-paced payments project environment at an established client.
• Competitive market-related hourly rate.
