Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Solar Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the installation, maintenance and commissioning of solar PV systems and related electrical equipment.
Solar experience is an advantage, but we are also willing to consider candidates with a basic electrical background who are eager to learn and develop their skills in the solar industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of solar PV panels and mounting structures.
- Assist with installation of inverters, batteries, DB boards, isolators and related equipment.
- Perform basic electrical installation work under supervision where required.
- Read and understand basic electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Use hand tools and basic electrical tools safely and correctly.
- Assist with cable routing, cable management and termination.
- Assist with testing, fault finding and maintenance of solar systems.
- Follow electrical and safety procedures on all job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Travel to customer sites when required.
- Perform other duties related to solar installations as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Basic knowledge of the electrical trade.
- Ability to read and understand basic electrical plans and diagrams.
- Good understanding of basic electrical principles.
- Ability to use common hand tools and electrical tools.
- Good practical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work safely at heights and outdoors.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
Advantageous Qualifications & Experience
- Previous solar PV installation experience.
- Electrical trade qualification or relevant electrical training.
- Experience with solar inverters, batteries and PV systems.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Experience working with power tools and electrical equipment.
- Experience working on construction or electrical sites.
