Sous Chef

We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in managing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality food while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and presenting high-quality meals.
• Supervise and support kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, receiving, and inventory management.
• Minimise food wastage and control kitchen costs.
• Train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and operating efficiently.
• Step into the role of Head Chef in their absence.
• Assist with menu planning and the introduction of new dishes.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Culinary Qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience as a Chef, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Sous Chef role.
• Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
