Job description
Full time | Artisan Skin | Cape Town, Southern Suburbs
R18,000 to R22,000 gross per month
Do you love skin, but know your strengths extend beyond the treatment room?
Artisan Skin is looking for a qualified Skin Therapist who is exceptional with people, highly organised and naturally good at making things happen.
This is not a traditional reception role, and it is not a full treatment column.
You will sit at the centre of the clinic, looking after the client journey, keeping our diaries moving, supporting our therapists and helping the day run beautifully.
We are looking for someone who notices the details, follows things through and stays calm when plans change. Someone who sees a problem and starts thinking about how to solve it. Someone who genuinely cares about clients and takes pride in making things work well.
We also value people who are curious about better ways of working. You should be comfortable exploring modern technology, including AI tools, to simplify everyday tasks, improve communication and create more efficient workflows.
About Artisan Skin
Artisan Skin is an established skin clinic in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs specialising in advanced skin treatments, professional skincare and highly personalised client care.
We believe excellent results should be matched by an exceptional client experience.
From a client's first enquiry to their treatment, home care, follow up and next booking, we want them to feel remembered, understood and genuinely looked after.
We invest in excellent treatments, products, technology and education, and we are looking for someone who wants to contribute meaningfully as Artisan continues to grow.
What you will own
Your primary responsibility will be coordinating the clinic and client journey.
This includes:
- Managing phone, WhatsApp, email and online enquiries warmly and efficiently
- Helping turn appropriate enquiries into consultations and bookings
- Actively managing therapist diaries, cancellations and waiting lists
- Looking for thoughtful opportunities to fill available appointments
- Making sure enquiries, rebooking, aftercare and important client follow ups do not fall through the cracks
- Creating a seamless client experience from arrival through to checkout and the client's next appointment
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate client information
- Supporting appropriate treatment, home care and retail recommendations
- Helping resolve client concerns calmly and professionally when something has not gone according to plan
- Monitoring important treatment stock and consumables so requirements are identified before they become urgent
- Helping therapists stay prepared and supported throughout the day
- Coordinating communication between clients, therapists and management
- Keeping reception and client areas calm, organised and beautifully presented
- Using Fresha and our other systems accurately and confidently
- Looking for opportunities to improve simple systems and workflows using technology and modern tools
- Performing skin treatments within your qualifications and experience when required
What success looks like
Clients feel genuinely cared for.
Enquiries are answered and followed through.
The diary is actively managed rather than simply observed.
Cancellations prompt action.
Clients who should return are appropriately followed up and rebooked.
Aftercare does not get forgotten.
Therapists feel supported and prepared.
Important stock requirements are anticipated.
When something unexpected happens, you assess the situation, communicate clearly and start looking for a sensible solution.
You naturally look for better ways of doing things rather than accepting an inefficient process simply because that is how it has always been done.
Most importantly, you notice what is happening around you and care about making it better.
You will probably thrive at Artisan if you
- Genuinely enjoy working with people
- Communicate warmly and confidently in person, by phone and in writing
- Are exceptionally organised and attentive to detail
- Think clearly when plans change
- Follow things through to completion
- Enjoy solving problems
- Are comfortable taking initiative while knowing when something needs to be escalated
- Naturally look for smarter and more efficient ways of working
- Are curious about technology and comfortable learning tools such as AI, automation and new software
- Understand that excellent service, strong client relationships, well managed diaries and appropriate rebooking all contribute to a healthy clinic
- Want to contribute to a growing business rather than simply complete a list of tasks
What we need from you
A recognised qualification in Beauty Therapy, Somatology or Skin Therapy is essential.
Previous experience in a skin clinic, aesthetic clinic, spa or salon is strongly preferred.
Experience in reception, spa coordination or front of house responsibilities would be highly advantageous.
You should also have:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Confidence using computers, booking systems and digital communication
- A professional and polished manner
Experience with Fresha, professional skincare, advanced treatments and retail is advantageous, but we are interested in finding the right person, not simply the longest CV.
You do not need to be an AI expert. We are more interested in curiosity, adaptability and a willingness to learn how modern tools can make work better.
The opportunity
Your central responsibility will be clinic coordination and client experience, with treatments incorporated where appropriate.
This role offers the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of how a successful skin clinic operates, from client experience and diary management to systems, treatments, retail and day to day operations.
For someone who demonstrates exceptional judgement, initiative and leadership, there is genuine opportunity to take on greater operational responsibility within Artisan as the business grows.
