Specialist: Accountant - Audi Sandton

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join the Audi Sandton team. This position primarily focuses on managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting compliance with local regulations. As an integral part of our finance department, you will contribute to the financial health of the organization by providing insights and facilitating informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collection of outstanding debts.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting, providing analysis of variances and recommendations for improvement.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all local tax regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights that drive operational effectiveness.
• Maintain financial records in accordance with best practices and relevant regulations, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of financial data.
• Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.

Requirements

• A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in accounting or a related finance role, with a solid understanding of financial principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional accounting designation (e.g. CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) would be advantageous.
• Experience in the automotive industry or a dealership environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP systems relevant to finance and accounting processes.
