Specialist: Internal Audit Data Analytics

As part of your portfolio as a Specialist: Internal Audit Data Analytics you will:

• Support the Internal Audit digital and analytics roadmap by identifying practical audit analytics use cases across Group Fintech and OpCos.
• Provide input into the development of a scalable Internal Audit analytics and continuous auditing approach.
• Support the standardisation of audit analytics scripts, dashboards, testing routines and reporting templates across markets.
• Contribute to the Internal Audit knowledge-sharing community by documenting reusable analytics approaches, lessons learned and leading practices.
• Support the use of automation and data-led techniques to improve audit coverage, efficiency, insight quality and early risk detection.
• Keep informed of emerging data analytics, audit automation, AI, machine learning and visualisation trends relevant to Internal Audit.
• Translate audit objectives, control requirements and audit risks into practical analytics scripts, queries and testing routines.
• Support Internal Audit assurance activities by analysing data to test control design, operating effectiveness and process compliance.
• Extract, transform, validate and analyse data to support audit engagements across financial, operational, technology, compliance, fraud and customer transaction areas.
• Design and automate recurring audit tests for high-risk processes, systems, transactions and controls.
• Build dashboards and exception reports to support ongoing monitoring of key risk indicators and control exceptions.
• Track recurring control exceptions and support root-cause analysis with audit and business stakeholders.
• Support the development of continuous auditing routines across priority risk areas, including payments, reconciliations, user access, privileged activity, system configuration and transaction monitoring.
• Perform analytics on system access, privileged-user activity, segregation of duties, configuration changes and user activity logs.
• Support Technology Audit by analysing data from fintech platforms, ERP systems, databases, APIs, cloud platforms and other relevant technology environments.
• Validate completeness, accuracy, integrity and reliability of data used for audit testing.
• Maintain data dictionaries, source-to-report mapping, audit analytics documentation and reusable testing logic.
• Ensure data handling complies with privacy, confidentiality, information security and regulatory requirements.

The incumbent must have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science or a related field.
• Proven experience 2-5 years in data analytics
• Strong technical skills in data mining and analytics tools such as SQL, Microsoft Fabric, Python and R.
• Knowledge of database systems (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL) and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience in financial services, Fintech, telecommunications or related fields is an advantage.
• Advanced Excel analytics, Power Query and Power Pivot.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve business objectives.
