Duties and responsibilities:

  • Carry out duties as required including sweeping, dusting, toilet cleaning, mopping and use of vacuum cleaners.
  • Use electrical and mechanical equipment, floor polishers, etc. when necessary and after appropriate training.
  • Use of stepladders when necessary and with due regard to the Health & Safety of themselves or others.
  • Use of cleaning materials in accordance with manufacturers' printed instructions and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations.
  • Responsible for the care of all assigned cleaning equipment and materials.
  • Ensure, where practicable that windows and doors are closed and locked when leaving rooms.
  • Restocking supplies.
  • Set up and clean for events where applicable.
  • Ad hoc duties if in line with work schedule.
  • Relay client requests to Senior Assistant Officer.
  • Communicate with clients regarding service and reasonable client requests.
  • Report faulty equipment to the Senior Assistant Officer.
  • Report maintenance issues to the Senior Assistant Officer.

Inherent requirements:

  • Grade 10 (NQF Level 2)(attach proof).
  • Experience in general cleaning, including cleaning and maintaining facilities, using cleaning equipment and handling cleaning materials and chemicals.

Recommendations:

  • A minimum of 1 (one) year of relevant experience in general cleaning, including cleaning and maintaining facilities, using cleaning equipment and handling cleaning materials and chemicals.

Salary:

The annual remuneration package, including benefits, is R 127,080.97 per annum, depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
