About the Company

Our client is a growing SaaS technology company developing integrated software solutions for the logistics and transportation industry.

Their technology platform helps medium and large businesses manage logistics operations through a combination of web-based software, mobile applications, fleet management and telematics.

We are looking for a Mid-Senior Software Developer (C#) to join their Research & Development team in Observatory, Cape Town.

The Role

This is a hands-on development role for a developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, taking ownership of their work and building scalable software solutions.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining software modules and features used within a global technology platform.

What you'll be doing

• Design and develop scalable C#/.NET desktop applications and Windows services
• Write clean, high-quality and performant code
• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL functions, stored procedures and triggers
• Consume and develop REST/SOAP Web APIs
• Work with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly solutions
• Troubleshoot and deep-dive into technical and application performance issues
• Take ownership of development modules and features from concept through to completion
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies where appropriate
• Collaborate with developers, designers and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
• Extensive commercial experience developing with C# / .NET Framework 4+
• Strong experience with relational databases
• Strong SQL knowledge
• Experience consuming and/or developing Web APIs
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns
• Experience with source control technologies such as Git or SVN
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of development work

Essential Requirements

You must have:

• Strong C#/.NET development experience
• Strong SQL / relational database experience
• Experience working with Web APIs
• Experience with JavaScript OR Docker

Advantageous Experience

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

• PostgreSQL
• Google Maps, OpenStreetMap or other mapping technologies
• Agile development methodologies
• Performance and analytics tools for desktop applications or services
• TeamCity or other continuous integration tools
• Unit testing / Test-Driven Development
• Static code analysis
