Steel Erector - CPT

Looking for steel and structural steel erectors with min 5 years' experience for our Killarney Gardens, Cape Town branch.

• Reading and interpreting structural drawings, blueprints, and erection plans.
• Unloading, sorting, and organizing steel components delivered to the site.
• Inspecting steel members for damage or defects before installation.
• Positioning and aligning steel beams, columns, trusses, and other structural elements.
• Using cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment to lift and place steel safely.
• Connecting steel components using bolts, welding, or other approved fastening methods.
• Working at heights using scaffolding, elevated work platforms, or safety harnesses.
• Following lifting plans and coordinating with crane operators and riggers.
• Complying with site health, safety, and environmental procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and clean condition
• Communicating effectively with supervisors, engineers, inspectors, and other construction trades.
• Recording completed work and reporting progress to site management.
• Assisting with site inspections and correcting any defects identified during quality inspections.
