One of South Africa’s leading furniture and appliance

retailers, have the following vacancy:

Stock Clerk

Lewis Maitland Warehouse

We are seeking a suitably qualified stock clerk to oversee all warehouse stock control functions within our Lewis Maitland Warehouse. The ideal candidate needs to take ownership of all warehouse stock control activities. Ideal candidates would have solid experience in retail stock control and would have had exposure to customers within the retail environment.

The role will:

  • Ensure excellent customer service by playing an active role in customer contact situations – thereby ensuring and maintaining healthy customer relationships
  • GRV and IBT of stock
  • Set up the warehouse to display sample ranges as required throughout the year, including preparation for the annual range review.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding sample stock, including arranging delivery, collection and returns once samples are no longer required.
  • Maintain regular communication with the merchandise buying team and photographer to support sample range requirements.
  • Place supplier orders when required and manage stock transfers between the store and warehouse.
  • Receive stock from suppliers, return stock where necessary, and support accurate stock control processes.
  • Assist with stocktakes and ensure warehouse stock records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain the general tidiness, organisation and housekeeping standards of the warehouse.
  • Clear damaged and obsolete stock in line with company procedures.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • A Matric/Grade 12 educational qualification
  • Minimum 3 years retail management experience, preferably in the furniture retail industry
  • Computer literate
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • We require a tough-minded individual who thrives on driving performance and is able to juggle customer service while working in a high-pressure environment
