Job description
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Stock Control Officer to oversee inventory accuracy while supporting daily warehouse operations. The successful candidate must have previous stock control and warehouse experience, including container offloading, stock packing, receiving and dispatching goods, and maintaining an organized warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and cycle counts.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock.
- Offload shipping containers safely and efficiently.
- Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
- Ensure stock is stored correctly and safely within the warehouse.
- Perform stock transfers, returns, and inventory adjustments.
- Operate barcode scanners and inventory management systems.
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping and comply with health and safety standards.
- Work closely with the warehouse, procurement, and dispatch teams to ensure efficient stock flow.
- Prepare stock and inventory reports as required by management.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 1–2 years' experience in a Stock Control or Warehouse role.
- Proven warehouse experience is essential, including:
- Offloading shipping containers.
- Receiving and checking incoming stock.
- Picking, packing, and dispatching orders.
- Stock shelving and warehouse organization.
- Loading and unloading vehicles.
- Experience using inventory management or ERP systems.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physically fit and capable of handling manual warehouse duties.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
