Stock Controller

ABOUT

Intercare Century City Day Hospital is seeking a dynamic and organised Stock Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising and coordinating the ordering, receiving, storing, counting and supply of ethical, surgical and other stock required for hospital operations while ensuring compliance with medicine regulations.

CRITICAL OUTPUTS

• Ensure the timely availability of stock to support quality patient care and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with nursing staff, management, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Respond promptly to stock-related queries and escalate concerns where necessary.
• Maintain clean, organised, secure and compliant stock holding areas.
• Monitor stock levels and usage to ensure accurate replenishment and uninterrupted operations.
• Source products, obtain quotations and manage supplier relationships to achieve cost-effective procurement.
• Process purchase orders and maintain accurate stock and procurement records.
• Receive, verify and inspect stock deliveries to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance.
• Manage stock control activities, including expiry tracking, barcoding, invoicing and credit note processing.
• Conduct stock takes, cycle counts and variance analysis to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Apply effective stock management principles to minimise waste, losses and excess stock while maintaining optimal stock levels.
• Reconcile supplier statements, stock records to support financial accuracy and timely payment processing.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of Grade 12 / NQF Level 4.
• A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 3–4 years' experience in a Stock Controller role.
• Previous experience working in a theatre environment within the healthcare or medical industry will be highly advantageous.
• Full computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Valid driver's licence and own transport.
• Ability to work in a pressurised, deadline-driven environment.
• Willingness to work overtime and be on call for emergencies when required.
• Strong attention to detail, customer service orientation and ability to work effectively within a team.

WORKING HOURS

This role operates strictly during standard daytime hours, including weekends and public holidays, with no night shifts required.

Pay: R13 500,00 - R21 000,00 per month
