Job description
Purpose of the Job
As a Stock Controller and a member of the Cinema Management Team, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all stock at the cinema to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the business. The role requires strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices to maintain accurate stock records, minimise losses, and ensure stock availability for daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management
- Monitor and maintain stock levels to ensure sufficient stock is available for daily operations.
- Conduct weekly stock counts and any additional ad hoc stock counts as required.
- Perform regular spot checks in accordance with company procedures.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure stock is rotated and managed according to company standards.
Stock Issuing
- Prepare and issue opening shift stock to concession sales staff.
- Monitor stock levels throughout the trading day and replenish stock as required.
- Complete all stock issue and replenishment documentation accurately.
- Perform end-of-shift stock balancing and reconcile stock variances.
- Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded and authorised.
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean, organised, and secure stockroom at all times.
- Ensure stock is stored correctly and safely.
- Keep all stock records accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements within the stockroom.
Operations
- Safeguard company assets, including stock and cash, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support concession operations by ensuring stock availability and efficient stock flow.
- Ensure compliance with company operational standards and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure ticket sales and admissions comply with age restriction legislation and company guidelines.
- Ensure movie posters and promotional material are displayed correctly and maintained in good condition.
- Assist management with operational duties as required to support the smooth running of the cinema.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Previous stock control or inventory management experience, preferably within a retail, hospitality, or entertainment environment.
Knowledge and Skills
- Sound knowledge of stock control principles and inventory management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard office systems.
- Strong numerical ability with excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational, planning, and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of honesty, integrity, and accountability.
- Working long hours, weekends, school holiday and public holidays.
Pay: R7 500,00 per month
