Stock Controller

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To control the receipt, holding, release and reconciliation of drummed product held in the WIP room, the non-conformance (rework) room and the rework refrigerator, so that stock awaiting laboratory clearance is released on time and in full to the Final Goods Warehouse, rejected and reworked product is correctly segregated and recorded, and physical drum counts always reconcile to production, quality and stock records.

QUALIFICATION:

· Grade 12 / Matric (minimum).

· Certificate or diploma in Stock Control, Warehousing, Logistics or Supply Chain Management.

· 3+ years' experience in stock control or warehouse inventory control, preferably in Food or FMCG manufacturing.

· Proven experience performing physical stock counts and reconciling variances to source records.

· Experience maintaining stock records in Excel

· Stock Management System experience is essential (Sage)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Track drums held in the WIP room by production day and expected clearance date; follow up with Quality so that release or rejection decisions are issued within the hold period.

· Confirm the drum count released agrees with the count physically transferred to the Final Goods Warehouse and sign off the transfer.

· Ensure rejected drums are moved to the non-conformance room and allocated to the non-conformant rework record.

· Escalate overdue releases and WIP room capacity pressure to the Business Analyst and Quality.

· Perform physical drum counts of the WIP room, non-conformance room and rework refrigerator at set intervals.

· Reconcile counts to production, quality and movement records; resolve discrepancies to root cause.

· Sign off all drums leaving each area; no drum leaves without a recorded, signed movement.

· Maintain FIFO order and correct segregation of product within each area.

· Compile rework records from shift supervisor reports, distinguishing unlabelled general rework from labelled (serialised) non-conformance stock.

· Record each rework item at both points: when first captured as rework, and again when reworked back into the process.

· Reconcile rework and non-conformance records to physical stock counts without double counting between the two categories, to a standard that supports compliance and audit.

· Maintain the Excel records and in-house tracking tools for WIP, rework and drum movements; perform first-line troubleshooting and report faults.

· Provide stockholding, release-status and variance reports to the Business Analyst at agreed intervals.

· Identify recurring causes of variance and propose corrective actions.

Pay: Up to R20 000,00 per month
