Stock Controller/Buyer

We are seeking a detail-oriented Stock Controller & Purchaser to oversee end-to-end inventory flow, procurement operations, and supplier relationships. In this dual-capacity role, you will balance physical inventory management with strategic buying, ensuring stock levels match business demand without over-capitalizing on working capital.

You will work closely with Sales, Finance, and Logistics to analyze sales trends, maintain precise records within our ERP system, and secure competitive pricing from vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchasing & Vendor Management: Generate purchase orders, negotiate supplier pricing, track delivery lead times, and follow up relentlessly to ensure on-time delivery.
• Inventory Control & Serial Tracking: Monitor inbound and outbound inventory flows, track serialized stock, and execute regular cycle counts and stock takes.
• System Reconciliation: Reconcile physical inventory counts against ERP system records, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Receiving & Finance Administration: Process Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs), verify deliveries against POs, and clear accurate supplier invoices for accounting payout.
• Demand Forecasting & Stock Optimization: Analyze sales trends and seasonal patterns to set ideal reorder points, maintain Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR) levels, and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Inventory Methodology Implementation: Apply industry-standard inventory practices, including Just-In-Time (JIT) and First-In, First-Out (FIFO) control protocols.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Align closely with Sales, Logistics, and Finance to report on inventory health, share forecasting data, and support business needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Buyer, Purchaser, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and stock management software.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities for forecasting, variance reporting, and sales trend interpretation.
• Clear, assertive communication skills for managing supplier relationships and internal cross-team operations.
• Practical understanding of serial number tracking, JIT, FIFO, and reorder point calculation methods.

Pay: R18 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month

Experience:

• ERP systems or inventory management system: 3 years (Required)
• Purchasing & Vendor Management: 3 years (Required)
• Stock Takes & ERP Reconciliation: 3 years (Required)
