UP Professional and Support DEPARTMENT OF FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
STORE ASSISTANT
PEROMNES POST LEVEL: 13

Responsibilities
- Manage inventory line items and assist with receiving, issuing, compiling picking lists, shipments, unpacking and delivering stock to clients at the counter or by vehicle;
- Assist with stocktaking and the safekeeping of examination books;
- Perform labour-intensive duties related to warehouse and stores operations, including manual handling of stock, frequent lifting and carrying of materials, and prolonged standing, walking and physical movement within the stores environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with 1 year of proven experience;
- Minimum Proven experience :
- Previous stationery stores experience as an assistant;
- Knowledge of stationery products and specifications;
- Knowledge of safety and security procedures.
- Valid Driver’s License.

- Warehouse keeping and store safety and security;
- Computer Literacy;
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with others to encourage and support communication and teamwork;
- Ability to convey information clearly and concisely;
- Ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills and methods to reduce tension and resolve conflict;
- Ability to develop plans to accomplish work operations and objectives.
Added Advantages And Preferences
- 1 year background knowledge of various stationery items and brand names, as well as knowledge of safety instructions.

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
