Job description
Soweto626 Vilakazi is looking for a reliable, hands-on Store Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our store. We specialise in ice cream, sweets, treats and other fun food products, and we need someone who can ensure the store operates smoothly, efficiently and to a high standard. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing staff, maintaining cleanliness, monitoring stock, assisting with sales and ensuring customers receive excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the store. Ensure the store is clean, organised and presentable at all times. Supervise staff and ensure everyone is performing their duties correctly. Oversee the selling and serving of ice cream, sweets and other treats. Assist customers and ensure friendly, professional service. Monitor stock levels and report when products need to be replenished. Ensure products are stored and handled correctly. Monitor cash handling and daily sales. Ensure equipment and work areas are kept clean and properly maintained. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Address basic customer queries and operational issues. Ensure staff follow company procedures, hygiene standards and workplace rules. Report daily operational issues, sales concerns and stock requirements to management. Help maintain a fun, welcoming and energetic environment for customers.
Requirements
Previous experience in retail, food service, hospitality or store operations will be an advantage but not a must. Strong organisational and leadership skills. Reliable, punctual and trustworthy. Good communication and customer-service skills. Able to work independently and take initiative. Comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing environment. Good attention to cleanliness and detail. Basic understanding of stock and cash management. Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays when required.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is responsible, energetic, organised and hands-on. This is not a desk-only management position — the manager must be actively involved in ensuring that the store, staff, customers and daily operations are running smoothly. Should preferably reside in Orlando West at a walking distance to Vilakazi Street.
Pay: R1 500,00 - R4 000,00 per month
