Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level education.
• Proven experience in retail or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to understand and meet diverse customer needs.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, at an intermediate proficiency level.
• Competence in planning, organising, and prioritising work independently and within a team.
• Attention to detail, ensuring adherence to quality standards and minimising errors.
• Basic team collaboration skills, supporting team members and contributing to team objectives.
• Advanced customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and escalation management.
• Ability to demonstrate personal leadership through discipline in attendance, dress code, and time-keeping.
• Knowledge of sales techniques and detailed product knowledge to effectively advise customers and maximise sales.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly, providing personalized and attentive service to identify and meet diverse needs.
• Utilize effective selling techniques to advise customers on product options, benefits, and alternatives, ensuring optimal satisfaction.
• Efficiently process till transactions following company policies, including various payment methods such as gift and loyalty cards.
• Manage stock levels by monitoring reports and coordinating with buyers and planners to ensure availability and timely product launches.
• Maintain product knowledge and department standards, ensuring operational excellence and presentation quality.
• Adhere to shopkeeping disciplines by keeping sales and back areas clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and safety requirements.
• Report incidents related to shrinkage or dishonesty through established channels and apply Red Flag procedures appropriately.
• Demonstrate personal leadership through discipline in attendance, dress code, punctuality, and active participation in team meetings.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, supporting department goals and contributing to a positive work environment.
