Storekeeper

Job Summary

ONOMO Hotels is seeking 3* x organized , detail-oriented, and reliable Storekeepers* to join our team . The Storekeepers will be responsible for the receiving , storing, issuing, and control of stock and supplies required for daily hotel operations. They will also work very closely with the Cost Controller to verifying that all goods received are accurate and in line with purchase orders. These roles are based at ONOMO Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Receive and dispatch all goods and deliveries to the correct departments or storage areas.
• Verify received goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and agreed quantities.
• Refuse damaged, incorrect, or unacceptable items.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all storage and receiving areas.
• Monitor stock levels and conduct regular inventory checks and stock audits.
• Ensure proper storage of food, beverage, and operational stock.
• Keep accurate records of stock movement, invoices, and reports.
• Investigate stock variances and report discrepancies.
• Ensure all issued stock matches requested quantities.
• Monitor expiry dates and dispose of expired stock according to company policy.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and hotel procedures.
• Participate in Health & Safety committees when required.

Qualifications and Competencies required:

• 1-2 years of experience in the same or similar role within a hotel environment
• Procurement systems experience , i.e. Materials Control or similar system.
• Good knowledge of stock control and inventory procedures
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with a proactive and flexible attitude
• Honest, disciplined, and reliable
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy loads
