Job description
We are looking for a reliable and organised Storeman to join our team in the print and packaging industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and controlling stock while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring materials are available to support production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving Stock Receive and inspect incoming deliveries. Verify quantities against delivery notes and purchase orders. Report damaged, missing, or incorrect stock. Store materials in designated locations according to company procedures.
Issuing Stock Issue stock accurately to production departments. Ensure all stock is issued against authorised requisitions. Record all stock movements accurately. Maintain adequate stock levels to support production.
Stock Control Conduct daily cycle counts and monthly stock takes. Investigate and report stock discrepancies. Monitor stock levels and notify management of shortages. Ensure correct stock rotation procedures are followed where applicable.
Administration Capture all stock transactions accurately on the stock control system. Process delivery notes and related documentation. Assist with stock reporting and inventory records.
Housekeeping & Safety Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stores environment. Ensure materials are stored correctly and securely. Comply with all company health and safety policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements Matric (Grade 12). Minimum 2 years' experience as a Storeman or in a warehouse/stores environment. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel (experience with stock control systems will be advantageous). Good numerical and record-keeping skills. Physically fit and capable of handling stock safely. Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.
Technical Skills Stock receiving and inspection. Inventory and stock control. Stock issuing and materials management. Stock counting and reconciliation. Basic computer and stock system proficiency. Accurate record keeping and documentation.
Personal Skills Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Strong organisational and planning skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Honest, trustworthy, and accountable. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Able to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
