Career Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Storeman for the Company’s Head Office in Bellville, Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities

· Receiving, checking against delivery note and weighing of delivered and received yarns from suppliers, inter group or otherwise.

· Off loading or assisting with offloading delivery vehicles

· Accurate receiving and recording of all yarn and packaging transfers to and from stores

· Driving of forklift as required

· Compliance to all quality management systems

· Compliance to all health and safety standards

· Dispatching checked yarns to inter branch, supplier returns and goods for sale

· Picking and packing of yarns between the B and BP stores

· Housekeeping in both the B and BP stores by ensuring always i.e. that yarns are neatly packed, sealed and safely stacked away, store floor is clean and clear of any obstructions, etc.

· Taking part of weekly cycle counts and stocktakes

Requirements

· Skills and knowledge gained in the business will be advantageous.

· Must be employed (on the payroll) in your current position for more than 1 year

· Must have basic literacy and numeracy skills

· Must have a valid forklift license

· Must have a valid code 8 driver’s license

· The ability to give attention to detail

· The ability to follow set procedures

· Be able to work shifts when operationally required

· Willingness to work overtime when operationally required

· Be able to work under extreme pressure

· Ability to work accurately

· Good interpersonal skills

· Sound knowledge of quality and commitment to maintain standards

· Commitment to improve standards of the business

· Be able to work well in a team and individually

· Flexibility to work in any area as expected by your leader

· Be able to make sound decisions and act proactively

· Trustworthy, honest and able to own up to mistakes
