Organisation: Letšeng Diamonds

Position: Stores Truck Driver (Patterson BU X 1)

Purpose

To support the Stores Logistics operations by undertaking tasks required to ensure optimal operations.

Main Outputs and Responsibilities

Transport a variety of bulky consignment equipment to and from retail and distribution centres.
Conduct daily inspections of the truck and all mobile equipment to ensure they remain safe and fit for use at all times.
Maintain daily truck inspection records.
Assist Mine Operations with transportation duties as required.
Operate multi-gear transmission vehicles safely, taking into consideration vehicle size and cargo.
Transport cargo by truck, including truck-and-trailer combinations where required.
Connect and disconnect cabs from trailers and perform basic repairs, including changing tyres.
Operate multi-gear transmission vehicles safely, taking into consideration vehicle size and cargo.
Adhere to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards at all times.
Assist with loading and offloading goods.

Qualifications And Experience Required

Cambridge Overseas School Certificate (COSC).
Code 14 driver’s licence with at least two years of use and a traceable, clean driving record.
A Code 10 driver’s licence may be considered in place of a Code 14 licence where the candidate has a proven record of driving excellence.
Certification in HIAB operation or proven previous experience.

Required Skills And Competencies

Physically fit and able to perform activities requiring the use of arms and legs.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in Sesotho and English.
Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships with personnel across all work areas.
