Job description

Strategic Advisory Consultant — Private Wealth Management - McK’s Enterprises

McK’s Enterprises is a private strategic advisory firm working exclusively with independent private wealth management firms. We help wealth management institutions strengthen the underlying systems that determine institutional trust, client loyalty, executive authority, and long-term durability. Our work sits at the intersection of strategy, behavioural insight, institutional architecture, operational execution, and executive positioning. We are currently entering our initial client acquisition phase and are looking for a strategist who can become responsible for the execution of our advisory work as we begin working with our first clients.

The intellectual architecture of the advisory system has already been developed. This is not a role where you will be expected to invent a consulting methodology from scratch. Your responsibility will be to learn, execute, stress-test, and help continuously refine the system through real-world client engagements.

The Role

We are looking for a Strategic Advisory Consultant to lead the fulfilment of McK’s client engagements. You will work directly within our proprietary strategic advisory framework, conducting investigations, analysing institutional problems, developing strategic recommendations, facilitating executive discussions, and translating strategic decisions into coherent implementation architectures. You will also have an important role in improving the methodology itself.

As our system is applied to real institutions, you will identify where processes, frameworks, diagnostic methods, deliverables, or strategic sequences can be strengthened — and contribute to making the overall advisory system more rigorous and effective.

This is therefore both a client-facing consulting role and a methodology-development role.

What You Will Be Responsible ForClient Advisory

  • Execute McK’s proprietary advisory methodology across client engagements.
  • Conduct structured institutional investigations and executive diagnostic sessions.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative information gathered throughout an engagement.
  • Identify underlying strategic, behavioural, cultural, operational, and institutional issues.
  • Translate complex findings into clear strategic conclusions.
  • Develop strategic recommendations and architectures using McK’s frameworks.
  • Facilitate strategic discussions with senior executives and firm leadership.
  • Produce high-quality strategic deliverables and client-facing documentation.
  • Maintain strategic coherence across the full client engagement.
  • Ensure recommendations are translated into practical organisational action rather than remaining theoretical.

Methodology Development

  • Identify weaknesses, ambiguities, inefficiencies, or gaps within the existing advisory system.
  • Recommend improvements to frameworks, processes, diagnostic methods, deliverables, and workflows.
  • Help convert lessons from client engagements into improvements to McK’s intellectual property.
  • Contribute to the development of increasingly rigorous internal execution standards.
  • Help ensure the methodology can eventually be executed consistently across multiple strategists and clients.

Internal Strategic Collaboration

You will work closely with McK’s founder and lead strategist. The founder will retain responsibility for the commercial relationship and will personally maintain involvement with each client. Your primary responsibility will be strategic fulfilment and execution.

The Type of Person We Are Looking For

We are not primarily looking for someone who has memorised consulting frameworks. We are looking for someone who can **think clearly when the answer is not obvious. **You should be comfortable entering an organisation, asking difficult questions, identifying patterns across seemingly unrelated information, and forming a defensible strategic conclusion.

You should naturally ask:

What is actually happening here?

rather than immediately asking:

What solution should we implement?

You should be capable of separating symptoms from underlying causes and distinguishing observations, assumptions, interpretations, and conclusions. You should also be comfortable being wrong — provided you are willing to change your conclusion when the evidence changes.

Strong Candidates Will Typically Have

  • Experience in management consulting, strategic consulting, business transformation, organisational consulting, business process management, or a closely related field.
  • Strong analytical and structured-thinking ability.
  • Experience analysing complex organisational problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience presenting findings or recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong research, synthesis, and documentation skills.
  • A strong understanding of business operations and organisational systems.
  • The ability to work independently without requiring constant direction.
  • High attention to detail.
  • The ability to turn ambiguous information into structured strategic insight.

Experience in business process management, organisational design, transformation, strategy, or institutional governance would be particularly relevant. Experience working with private wealth management, financial services, professional services, or other high-trust businesses would be advantageous, but is not a prerequisite.

What Matters More Than Your Previous Job Title

Your previous title is less important to us than your ability to perform the work. A strong candidate may come from:

  • Management consulting
  • Strategy consulting
  • Business process management
  • Business transformation
  • Organisational design
  • Corporate strategy
  • Operations strategy
  • Professional services consulting
  • Institutional strategy
  • Financial services consulting

If you can demonstrate exceptional strategic reasoning and the ability to work through complex organisational problems, we want to hear from you.

The Working Environment

McK’s is currently in its initial client acquisition phase. Our proprietary advisory methodology, strategic frameworks, and fulfilment architecture have already been developed. We are now moving from system development into real-world application with our first private wealth management clients. This means the role is not a conventional position inside an established consulting organisation.

You will be joining at an early stage where you will have meaningful influence over how the advisory system develops through actual client work. There will be structure, but there will also be ambiguity. The methodology provides the architecture. Your judgement will determine how well it is executed.

What Success Looks Like

Within the role, success means that a client can enter an engagement and receive strategic work that is:

Rigorous.

The conclusions are supported by evidence and sound reasoning.

Coherent.

Each phase and recommendation connects logically to the broader institutional strategy.

Practical.

The work can actually be implemented within the client's organisation.

Executive-level.

The quality of thinking and communication is appropriate for senior leadership.

Repeatable.

The work can eventually be executed consistently without depending on one individual's intuition.

And ultimately:

The client should leave the engagement with greater institutional clarity, stronger strategic direction, and a more coherent system for creating the outcomes McK’s was engaged to achieve.

This Role Is Not For You If...

You primarily want a role where:

  • Every task is clearly defined in advance.
  • You simply execute instructions without challenging the underlying thinking.
  • Your work is limited to process administration.
  • You prefer operational optimisation over strategic problem-solving.
  • You require an established or
