Job description
Strategic Growth PartnerPart-Time Leadership Partnership | 10-20 Hours Per Week | Initial Six-Month Engagement
South Africa Preferred
You’ve probably helped grow a business before.
Not by simply running marketing campaigns.
By helping founders identify the right opportunities, deciding where to focus, getting initiatives into the market, measuring what worked, and improving from there.
You understand that real growth isn’t one tactic.
It’s the combination of positioning, relationships, credibility, execution, timing, and consistency.
You know that a great book isn’t just a book.
It can become keynote presentations, webinars, executive roundtables, PR opportunities, podcast interviews, strategic partnerships, research, newsletters, client conversations, and years of valuable content.
You understand that thought leadership only matters if it creates business opportunities.
You naturally ask questions like:
- What are we known for today?
- What should we become known for?
- Which opportunities create the biggest return?
- What’s the fastest way to test this idea?
- How do we get this into the market?
- How do we know if it’s working?
- What should we improve next?
If you’ve already found yourself thinking of ideas while reading this, we’d love to continue the conversation.
About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with an established U.S.-based professional services company that has been helping founders, investors, and executive leadership teams solve important business challenges since 2012.
This isn’t a startup searching for direction.
The business has a strong reputation, long-standing client relationships, and a founder who continues to invest aggressively in where the company is going next.
The founder comes from a management consulting background and a top MBA, but perhaps more importantly, has spent more than twelve years building, advising, and growing businesses alongside executive leadership teams.
Over that time we’ve built assets that many growing businesses wish they had.
Today those assets include:
- More than twelve years of operating history.
- Thousands of executive relationships.
- Nearly 6,000 executive LinkedIn connections.
- A completed book ready to be launched strategically.
- Years of proprietary insights and intellectual property.
- A growing content platform.
- Internal creative, marketing, and video resources.
- AI tools already integrated into the business.
- A Chief of Staff based in South Africa driving execution.
- A team that’s excited to build.
We’re not looking for someone to come up with random marketing ideas.
We’re looking for someone who can recognize the opportunity that’s already sitting in front of us and help us turn it into measurable growth.
Why This Role Exists
Ideas aren’t our constraint.
Execution isn’t even our biggest constraint.
Prioritization is.
We’re looking for someone who has enough experience to quickly understand the business, recognize where the greatest opportunities exist, and help us focus our energy where it will create the biggest impact.
Some opportunities may produce results in thirty days.
Others may take two years to fully mature.
We want someone who knows the difference.
Someone who understands when to move quickly, when to be patient, and how to build momentum over time.
This isn’t an ego project.
We’re not trying to make the founder famous.
We’re building a stronger business.
That means every initiative should ultimately support one or more outcomes:
- Stronger positioning.
- Greater market authority.
- Better relationships.
- More qualified opportunities.
- Increased trust.
- Better business development.
- Long-term brand equity.
If an idea doesn’t move the business forward, we probably shouldn’t spend time on it.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll work directly with the Founder and Chief of Staff to identify, prioritize, launch, and refine growth initiatives across the business.
Some weeks you’ll be discussing positioning.
Other weeks you may be reviewing a webinar concept, refining a book launch, evaluating a partnership opportunity, introducing a PR angle, shaping a speaking strategy, reviewing messaging, or deciding how a new piece of content should support business development.
The variety is intentional.
We’re not looking for someone who has one playbook.
We’re looking for someone who understands how all of these pieces work together.
You’ll help us decide questions like:
- Should we invest in PR now or later?
- Does the book become the centerpiece of our growth strategy?
- What role should webinars play?
- Should we build an executive community?
- What partnerships should we pursue?
- Where should we invest paid media?
- How should AI support our growth?
- Which ideas deserve immediate attention?
- Which ideas should wait?
Once priorities are established, you’ll help us move quickly.
Sometimes that means rolling up your sleeves.
Sometimes that means working with our Chief of Staff.
Sometimes it means bringing in the right outside resource.
Sometimes it means telling us not to do something at all.
Good judgment is just as valuable as great ideas.
Your First Six MonthsMonth One
Learn the business.
Understand our founder, clients, positioning, existing assets, team, and current initiatives.
Challenge assumptions.
Ask questions.
Identify opportunities.
At the end of your first month, we’d expect a clear set of priorities rather than a lengthy strategy document.
Months Two and Three
Begin launching the highest-priority initiatives.
Those initiatives may include a book launch strategy, webinar series, executive partnerships, speaking opportunities, PR outreach, founder positioning, content systems, referral initiatives, executive events, or something we haven’t even thought of yet.
The right answer matters more than following a template.
Months Four Through Six
Review results.
Measure impact.
Adjust priorities.
Improve what works.
Stop what doesn’t.
Continue identifying the next highest-leverage opportunities.
Our goal is continuous momentum, not perfection.
Who Will Enjoy This Role
This role is for someone who enjoys building.
You probably don’t think of yourself as “just a marketer.”
You’re commercially minded.
You’re creative.
You’re practical.
You understand branding, but you also understand revenue.
You’ve likely worked across several disciplines during your career.
Perhaps you’ve been involved in:
- Professional services marketing.
- Agency leadership.
- Growth strategy.
- Founder branding.
- PR.
- Speaking programs.
- Webinar programs.
- Business development.
- Strategic partnerships.
- Demand generation.
- Content strategy.
- Community building.
- Executive positioning.
You don’t need to be the world’s leading expert in every one of those areas.
But you’ve probably touched enough of them to understand how they work together.
Most importantly, you’ve helped implement them.
You know how to move from conversation to execution.
How We Work
We believe in building quickly.
Testing quickly.
Learning quickly.
Improving continuously.
You won’t be expected to build everything yourself.
You’ll have access to a founder who enjoys creating, a Chief of Staff who drives execution, internal resources, modern AI tools, and the flexibility to recommend outside specialists when appropriate.
We care far more about outcomes than ownership.
If someone else can execute something better than we can internally, we’d rather make that decision than force the wrong solution.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
We’re intentionally building a small leadership team around the founder.
Not a bureaucracy.
Not layers of management.
A team of experienced people who enjoy solving meaningful business problems, challenging each other’s thinking, and building something they’re proud of.
If you’re energized by helping founders turn good businesses into category leade
