Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Strategic Partner Executive (SPE) is responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with strategically important customers in Africa. Typically managing 20 - 30 key accounts in the SADC and IOI Region, the SPE is accountable for achieving sales targets and delivering on strategic account objectives.

The SPE represents the full portfolio of the company’s brands, products, and services within assigned accounts.

This role leads the customer account planning cycle and ensures that customer needs and expectations are consistently met through effective collaboration and execution.

Strategic Partner Executive Job Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Build and maintain strong, productive professional relationships with key stakeholders within assigned customer accounts.
  • Create a travel plan and execute in the various regions
  • Report back to Exco monthly on travel and activities
  • Coordinate internal resources, including Product and Sales Specialists, Support, Service, and Management teams, to achieve account performance objectives and customer expectations.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and strategic objectives across allocated accounts.
  • Lead joint strategic account planning processes, establishing shared performance goals, financial targets, and key milestones for 1- to 3-year plans.
  • Continuously assess, clarify, and validate customer needs to ensure alignment and value delivery.
  • Drive solution development initiatives that address customer requirements while coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Meet and exceed assigned profitability and revenue targets.
  • Deliver on strategic customer objectives as defined by company leadership.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive strategic account plans in line with company standards.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction in accordance with company benchmarks.
  • Complete all required training and development programmes within specified timeframes.

REQUIREMENTS

Internal training associated with competencies:

  • During the first week of your employment, you'll be presented with a meticulously crafted learning map designed to seamlessly guide you through your on-the-job training experience.

Requirements :

  • Grade
  • 5 - 6 years’ experience in Strategic Account Management, or Channel Sales in Africa (SADC preferred)
  • 6 years’ experience in a strategic, customer-facing role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • CRM system experience required; Accpac experience advantageous

Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience in managing and growing key client accounts in the SADC region preferred
  • Solid understanding of the account planning cycle within the African ICT industry
  • Experience in relationship management and cross-functional resource coordination
  • Financial management experience, including tracking and meeting revenue/profitability targets
  • Marketing exposure, including campaign development and execution
  • Strong understanding of client markets and industry dynamics
  • Experience developing and managing sales or marketing campaigns
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with CRM systems (Accpac advantageous)

Ability to meet Job Requirements:

  • Fluent in English.
  • Own reliable transport.

Office Requirements**:**

  • Office-based working environment except when travelling
  • Semi-formal dress code.
  • Working hours are from 08:00 – 17:00.
  • Excellent international business language skills (English), both written and verbal.
  • Reliable transport to and from the office.

  • This is a permanent position subject to a successful three-month probationary period.
  • You will be required to perform such duties as reasonably required by the business.
