Structural Engineering Technologist

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural engineering drawings and construction documentation.
• Assist with the structural design and analysis of a wide range of projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients throughout the design and construction process.
• Assist with the coordination of multidisciplinary projects and resolve technical queries during construction.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in structural engineering.
• Valid South African driver's licence.
• Sound understanding of structural engineering principles, reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, etc.
• Good knowledge of South African building regulations and relevant SANS codes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Project Experience

Experience in two or more of the following project sectors will be advantageous:

• Residential developments
• Commercial buildings
• Industrial facilities
• Educational facilities
• Healthcare facilities
• Warehouses and manufacturing plants

Software Requirements

Proficiency in the following software is required:

• CADDIE and/or AutoCAD
• Prokon
• Autodesk Revit
• Padds
• Experience with additional structural analysis and BIM software will be advantageous.

Pay: R40 000,00 - R50 000,00 per month
