Job description

SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.

SACAP is seeking to hire a National Student Life and Leadership Manager. The individual can be based in the Western Cape, Gauteng or KwaZulu-Natal region. In this position, the primary focus will be on strategically driving the institutional Student Life and Leadership centre. The centre’s objective is to offer a comprehensive range of services that foster student life experience and promote opportunities for student leadership.

The Student Life and Leadership Manager will play a crucial role in nationally expanding, developing, and supporting the campus student leadership bodies and engagement opportunities. They will also be responsible for ensuring the implementation of quality assurance processes and metrics related to these activities. The manager will actively promote student engagement across the institution and collaborate closely with other Student Support Centres.

This role will also support the broader Johannesburg Student Support team at a personal and broader team level. The role will proactively engage the campus leadership teams on operational challenges and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of a degree qualification in the discipline of Counselling, Psychology or Coaching
  • Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems
  • 2 years of full-time management experience, preferably within the field of Student Life and Leadership
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about SACAP and its offerings and student experience
  • Highly developed relationship building / interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

This role reports directly to the Registrar and Student Success Manager.

  • Note that you will be required to administer various student webinars during the evenings, and/or attend Open Days from time to time, and therefore flexible hours do apply. This role will require termly travel to different campuses and physical campus presence.

Operating Hours:

This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
  • Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
