Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) – Occupational Training & Qualification Development

Location: South Africa / Remote

About the Opportunity

We are looking for experienced Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support the development, review and validation of occupational learning and training content aligned to industry requirements and the South African occupational qualifications framework.

Key Responsibilities

As a Subject Matter Expert, you may be required to:

  • Provide expert occupational knowledge and practical workplace insight.
  • Review and validate existing learning and training material.
  • Assist with the development of occupational learning content.
  • Identify key duties, tasks, processes and competencies associated with the occupation.
  • Validate learning outcomes against real-world workplace requirements.
  • Review learner activities, practical tasks, assessments and knowledge requirements.
  • Provide industry-specific examples, scenarios and case studies.
  • Ensure content reflects current legislation, regulations, standards, policies and industry practices where applicable.
  • Participate in online or virtual consultation sessions with the qualification development team.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improving learning material.
  • Review content for technical accuracy, relevance and workplace applicability.
  • Where applicable, assist in mapping occupational knowledge and practical competencies to the relevant qualification or occupational curriculum.

Subject Matter Expert Requirements

We are looking for professionals who have substantial practical experience in one or more of the following fields:Air Transport Dangerous Goods Practitioner

Applicants should have strong practical knowledge and experience relating to the handling and management of dangerous goods within the air transport environment, including where applicable:

  • Dangerous goods classification
  • Packaging and labelling requirements
  • Documentation
  • Acceptance and handling procedures
  • Storage and transportation requirements
  • Air cargo operations
  • Dangerous goods regulations and compliance
  • Safety procedures
  • Incident and emergency procedures
  • Airline, airport, cargo or freight operations
  • Relevant international and industry standards

Pay: R400,00 - R500,00 per hour

Work Location: Remote
