POSITION: Supervisor ETD Surface
JOB GRADING: C – Upper

SITE: South Deep Gold Mine
The Supervisor ETD Surface is responsible for coordinating and supporting the governance, compliance and reporting activities underpinning organisational transformation initiatives, including internal Group programmes and statutory requirements such as the Mining Charter and Social and Labour Plan (SLP), Employment Equity (EE), Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports. The role ensures accurate and timely internal and external reporting, effective stakeholder engagement and compliance with legislative, governance and organisational requirements, while driving continuous improvement in reporting standards, planning, scheduling and execution to enhance reporting quality, operational efficiency and adherence to deadlines.
Minimum Requirements:
Matriculated or Equivalent with a HR Management, Industrial Relations, Social performance or related degree
Minimum of 5 years operational and statutory reporting experience i.e. SLP processes, audits and verification agencies
Sound working knowledge of transformational related legislation e.g. Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, Mining Charter, Broad-Based Black Empowerment Act, etc
Proven track record of engaging with multiple stakeholders including regulatory bodies
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and if obligatory, pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

Ability to cope with ambiguity with high personal resilience and change adaptability
Understands the processes, working culture and challenges associated with the business
Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively participate in and lead operational safety, health, environmental and risk management campaigns ensuring demonstration of Visible Felt Leadership (VFL)
Contribute towards maintaining a working environment that contributes to the Gold Fields’ aspirational culture transformation, improved employee morale, increased productivity and efficiency
Support the implementation and monitoring of operational transformation initiatives across EE, BBBEE, Skills Development and SLP programmes, ensuring alignment with business priorities, regulatory requirements and approved transformation plans
Assist with the collection, analysis and maintenance of information required to support BBBEE performance across applicable scorecard elements and facilitate the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving compliance and transformation outcomes
Monitor the execution of SLP commitments by tracking progress, maintaining supporting records, coordinating reporting requirements, and highlighting compliance risks or implementation challenges
Support EE implementation by maintaining workforce transformation data, capturing employment equity plans and progress, coordinating reporting activities and providing administrative support for EE initiatives
Coordinate and administer Skills Development activities, including Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) processes, training interventions, learner programmes and associated reporting requirements to support transformation and capability development objectives
Maintain accurate transformation records, documentation and evidence files to support governance requirements, internal reviews, external audits and regulatory submissions
Compile, analyse, and maintain transformation reports, scorecards, dashboards, and performance information to support operational decision-making, compliance monitoring, and management reporting
Facilitate engagement with internal and external stakeholders by coordinating meetings, preparing documentation, tracking actions, and supporting communication related to transformation initiatives and compliance obligations
Assist in identifying linkages and reporting interdependencies across EE, BBBEE, Skills Development, and SLP programmes to support integrated transformation reporting and performance monitoring
Monitor transformation-related risks, compliance obligations, milestones, and deliverables, escalating deviations and supporting the implementation of corrective actions where required
Support the embedding of transformation objectives within operational processes by providing information, guidance, reporting, and administrative assistance to leaders, managers, and relevant stakeholders
Contribute to the continuous improvement of transformation systems, processes, templates, and reporting mechanisms to enhance operational efficiency, data integrity, compliance, and governance outcomes
