Supervisor - Pep Bloemfontein

Introduction

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Day Shift Supervisor to oversee and manage operations within our logistics environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating dispatch activities, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining a high standard of service delivery and team supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure daily allocations are sent to the control room to monitor vehicles on
• local/Outlying deliveries and ensure all vehicles are dispatched on time.
• Ensure that all Deliveries & collections are done in accordance with the Route
• master.
• Follow up on allocated linehaul arrival times and report delays to Management
• and linehaul control.
• Floor Reports to be pulled, analysed and resolved daily to avoid aging stock on
• the floor.
• Ensure daily headcounts are verified.
• Regular Floor Walk to ensure all in order.
• Communicating with Clients on delivery queries & inquiries.
• Keep record of Booking dates of Supply Chain Clients/ Delivery Booking for
• Express.
• Complete the loading plan and discuss with the OPS Manager with clear
• communication to the loading team for execution.
• Make sure a proper handover is done between day and nightshift.
• Monitor delivery volumes / Collection & IBT ETA’s.
• Communicating with Stores on delivery delays.
• Check Floor Reports for aging stock and ensure FIFO is applied.
• Report and investigate discrepancies such as shortages and damages on
• delivery from linehaul vehicles.
• Taking Staff statements of incidents.
• Ensure Health and Safety are maintained and applied in your area of work.
• Ensure and maintain a high standard of Service delivery (OTIF Report)
• General Management of company assets – walls & wheels.
• Ensure that discipline is always maintained.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
• Daily meetings with staff reporting to you.
• Inform & update staff on new clients and requirements.
• Reporting of any issues to management.
• Ensure all stock takes are communicated and dates are adhered to.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric.
• Logistics degree or diploma advantageous
• At least 2 years in a logistics or supply chain supervisory role.
• Experience in staff management and night shift operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with City Logistics LMS & OnRoute (ORV) systems (advantageous)
• Ability to engage with drivers and crew.
• Understanding and awareness of City Logistics operational procedures, policies,

and processes.
