Job Purpose The Supply Chain Network Optimization Executive is responsible for designing, engineering, reviewing and and improving the organisation’s end‑to‑end logistics supply chain network, driving Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement and Operational efficiency projects throughout the business.
The role drives network modelling, scenario planning, technology enablement, innovation, automation (AI) and long‑term supply chain optimization to support strategic growth, efficiency, and profitability.

Alignment between commercial demand, operational capabilities, and engineering standards
Key Responsibilities
Network Strategy & Design
- Lead the end‑to‑end design, modelling, and optimization of the Supply Chain and Logistics network (transport, warehousing, and last‑mile).
- Conduct scenario planning, “what‑if” simulations, and risk assessments.
- Develop long-term network strategies aligned to commercial growth and operational capability.
- Evaluate new sites, consolidation opportunities, outsourcing options, and network redesign initiatives.
Transport & Routing Optimization
- Oversee advanced route optimization, fleet allocation, fleet mix and configuration and transport planning.
- Define the best‑fit fleet mix (owned vs contracted).
- Improve linehaul (x-dock), primary transport, secondary transport, and cost‑to‑serve models.
- Implement tools such as TMS optimization modules, routing software, and GIS mapping, fleet utilization and productivity.
Warehousing & Fulfilment Optimization
- Conduct capacity modelling, layout design, throughput analysis, and automation feasibility.
- Recommend investments in mechanization, racking, digital tools, energy efficiency, and layout enhancements.
- Support warehouse network redesign, hub‑and‑spoke modelling, and location strategy.
- Picking Optimization and CIP
- ABC Slotting, Pick-Walk Sequence, Re-Shuffle, Warehouse Densification and Automation
Data, Analytics & Engineering Modelling
- Lead the development of advanced simulation models using engineering principles (Lean, Six Sigma, OR, industrial engineering methods).
- Establish a centre of excellence for optimisation and analytics.
- Develop dashboards, network performance reports, and cost-to-serve insights.
- Identify and implemented AI where applicable across various functions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Commercial, Finance, Engineering, and IT on network changes and Continuous Improvement projects
- Advise the EXCO on network opportunities, risks, major capital decisions, and ROI. Develop and present business case models for review and prioritization to EXCO
- Serve as the engineering interface with transport operations, warehouse leadership, and customer teams.
Technology & Automation Enablement
- Evaluate and implement automation, robotics, telemetry, IoT, and digital optimisation tools.
- Champion digital twin development for warehouse and transport networks.
- Oversee system integrations (WMS/TMS/ERP/engineering tools).
Governance, Cost Management & Compliance
- Ensure project management controls, governance and engineering design standards are maintained and implemented
- Oversee cost modelling, efficiency projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reduce network complexity, waste, and inefficiencies.
Leadership & People Development
- Lead a team of Supply chain analysts, Industrial engineers and Project Managers
- Create a data‑driven culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and performance.
- Coach teams on technical skills, Supply Chain modelling methodologies, and continuous improvement frameworks, Lean, Six Sigma and Project Management Methodologies and Governance.

Qualifications And Experience Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job
- 10+ years in supply chain / logistics optimization, engineering, or network design.
- Experience in modelling tools (Llamasoft/LLamasoft Supply Chain Guru, AnyLogic, CAST, or similar).
- Strong background in transport engineering and warehouse optimization.
- Proven track record of successful project management implementations.
- Lean and Six Sigma Track record and experience.
- Experience overseeing multi-site logistics network transformations.
- Proven delivery of cost‑to‑serve reductions and network improvements.
- Experience in logistics operations (3PL/4PL) highly advantageous.
