Job description
As a 2nd Line Application Support Consultant, you will provide critical application support to minimize service disruptions and facilitate smooth operations. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that supported applications operate efficiently and effectively.
What you'll do:
- Provide second-line application support to enable end-users to utilize systems effectively
- Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, network engineers, developers, and testers to monitor and resolve issues
- Write queries and script updates for maintenance and support
- Maintain both production and staging environments
- Promote a DevOps culture across development, UAT, and production stages
- Investigate and resolve performance-related issues affecting user experience
- Answer incoming calls from Dealers and log incidents on Managed Engine ticketing tool
Your Expertise:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Application Support
- Exposure to SQL and Application Development
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Proficiency in SQL scripting
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server, SQL, and IIS Web Services
- Keen interest in current trends in software development and testing
- Understanding of common software failures and troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge of ITIL process management and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Relevant industry certifications
- Formal qualifications such as ITIL are advantageous
