Job description
About the Role
The ideal candidate will Own and continually improve the DQM (Defect Quality Management System) system to achieve full alignment between DQM, QCAT and invoicing, requiring a deep, fluent understanding of DQM and how it reconciles against QCAT — matching the "System Admin (Nexonic/SAP)" role in the site's multi-skilling model, a fixed, independent position that also owns the SAP data-certification pathway.
Responsibilities
DQM System Ownership & Continuous Improvement
- Own and improve the DQM system toward 100% QCAT/DQM/invoicing alignment; liaise with the system provider/IT support on continual improvements and error resolution; drive ongoing improvement in data accuracy.
- Present/submit DQM updates as required, and steer quality gates to ensure accuracy.
- Administer user access/permissions and set up new sorts/jobs, maintaining master data (parts, categories, work instructions) across SAP, QCAT and Nexonic.
Data Integrity & Daily Reconciliation
- Audit/check daily: DQM vs QCAT alignment (100%), the previous day's results, line-by-line, and DQM data loaded to QCAT (100% accuracy) — investigate and resolve incorrect data-capturing issues, escalating to the relevant team leaders.
- Ensure all invoiceable hours are captured, and that projects and time studies are loaded timeously — escalate for support where needed.
- Troubleshoot tablet, scanning, and system connectivity issues, and own system backups and security.
Training, Tablets & Device Control
- Ensure inspectors/team leaders are trained in DQM basics (opening projects, loading inspector training, other shift tasks) and that all training and current-revision work instructions are captured/loaded on tablets, per the training schedule.
- Own the tablet issue register and daily accounting for every tablet (charged and service-ready daily) — fully accountable for tablet movement/loss, with day-to-day responsibility delegated to team leaders.
- Train and certify SAP Supporters at "Data Certified" level, owning this certification pathway.
Reporting & Deadlines
- Be available and responsive during working hours (phone/email), with clear, concise and traceable (verbal + email) communication.
- Provide Finance with clear, accurate and timely DQM/QCAT data daily, plus swift feedback to Finance and other departments when required, and a daily error report to the Operations Manager.
Project Closure & Financial Data Accuracy
- Own project data accuracy and file closure within 24 hours of project close, enabling Finance to invoice with 100% correct data — no comebacks from the client permitted.
General
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed, and maintain backup contingency from available human resources.
- Client-specific duties: to be included and documented — the current JD flags this as an open item; the tender-sourced additions above (system administration across SAP/QCAT/Nexonic, tablet/system troubleshooting, SAP Supporter certification) are suggested content to fill this gap.
- Obey and comply with all legal and lawful instructions and other reasonable work arrangements set by the company from time to time.
Qualifications
- Minimum Matric (Grade 12).
- Computer-related certification in Information Technology: Database Administration — or equivalent practical proficiency in an ERP/quality-management data system (SAP or similar).
- A National Diploma in Quality Management, Information Technology, or Industrial Engineering remains preferable, though not a minimum requirement.
Required Skills
Experience
- 2–5 years in data, reporting, or quality-systems administration, with automotive-sector exposure.
- Expert in Microsoft systems and IOT devices, as well as Android technology.
Knowledge
- Deep, fluent understanding of the DQM system.
- Working knowledge of QCAT and reconciliation methods.
- Tablet-based training/data-capture systems and revision-controlled work instructions.
- SAP and Nexonic system administration (user access/permissions, master data), and the "SAP Scanning & Data" certification standard used across the site's multi-skilling matrix.
- The service-category cost/time classification structure (Classes A–H) and the RASIC accountability split (Responsible / Approving / Supporting / Informed / Consulting) used across service categories, relevant to master-data setup.
Personal attributes
- Analytical & detail-focused.
- Ownership & initiative
- Reliable & dependable
- Resilient & dedicated
- Trustworthy & honest
