Tax Consultant and Bookkeeper

Duties & Responsibilities

• Must be able to work on SARS eFiling:
• Submit ITR12 returns;
• Understand the ITA34, especially when SARS issues an additional assessment;
• Must be able to handle SARS objections and appeals;
• Must be able to handle tax clearance certificates & foreign investment tax clearances;
• Must have the knowledge to transfer an eFiling profile;
• Must be able to monitor SARS turnaround times and take the necessary escalation, complaints & Tax Ombud steps as required;
• Knowledge of the Wintax program for doing tax calculations will be advantageous;
• Must be able to explain to a client why a SARS refund differs from the original calculation;
• Must be able to calculate provisional tax returns and request the necessary documents;
• Must stay up to date as SARS eFiling changes;
• Must be able to handle all SARS queries and appointments;
• Must be able to work on Pastel:
• Must be able to work up to trial balance and use it in the tax calculations;
• Must be friendly and patient towards clients and SARS at all times;
• Must have a positive attitude;
• Must be able to advise clients as well as possible and request the necessary documents from them;
• Must be able to meet with clients from time to time;
• Must be able to do admin;
• The candidate must have a driver's licence and own transport;
• Must enjoy tax work;

Desired Experience & Qualification

At least three years' experience in personal tax at a tax practice

Bookkeeping experience

Bilingual

Pay: R25 000,00 - R28 000,00 per month
