TEACHER: EMS and Tourism - GET and FET

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher specializing in EMS (Economic and Management Sciences) and Tourism for Grades 10 to 12. This role primarily focuses on delivering engaging educational content in both EMS and Tourism, helping students understand the principles of economics, management, and the tourism industry. You will play a pivotal role in preparing students for their examinations and future careers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum for EMS and Tourism.
• Foster an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through regular testing and feedback, ensuring alignment with educational standards.
• Integrate real-world scenarios and practical examples into lessons to enhance student understanding of theoretical concepts.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional strategies and share best practices within the department.
• Organize and participate in extracurricular activities related to EMS and Tourism to enrich the student learning experience.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in EMS and Tourism education to continually improve teaching methods.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.

Requirements

• A relevant teaching qualification in Education, specializing in EMS and/or Tourism.
• Demonstrable experience teaching EMS and Tourism at the GET (General Education and Training) and FET (Further Education and Training) levels.
• Strong understanding of the South African curriculum and assessment standards for EMS and Tourism.
• Proven track record of developing engaging lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Business, or Tourism management.
• Additional certifications in teaching or specialized training in education methods.
• Experience with integrating technology into the classroom to enhance learning outcomes.
• Participation in professional development initiatives related to EMS and Tourism education.
