Team Leader: Binning

Parts Incorporated Africa is searching for a Team leader: Binning to join the binning team at the Riverhorse branch. The purpose of this position is to work closely with the Inbound Supervisor to ensure that binning operates effectively.

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification
• Automotive background
• Computer literate
• Experience in WMS
• Good understanding of Health and Safety systems, and 5S housekeeping
• Must be honest and show integrity
• Problem-solving and sound knowledge continuous improvement concept
• Good communication skills
• Highly focused and deadline driven
• Mentoring and coaching skills
• Must be customer orientated
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure

Key Performance Indicators includes, but not limited to:

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate the cross-docking team to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Plan and allocate workforce resources based on inbound volume forecasts and operational requirements.
• Oversee the receiving, sorting, scanning, staging, and consolidation of goods to ensure seamless product flow.
• Ensure the timely movement of products from inbound receiving to binning areas, minimizing storage time and handling delays.
• Monitor loading and offloading activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to scheduled timelines.
• Verify product quantities, codes, labels, pallets, and supporting delivery documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure all inbound and outbound transactions are accurately recorded and processed within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, shortages, damages, misrouted shipments, and documentation errors promptly.
• Monitor dock utilization and vehicle turnaround times to maximize operational efficiency and service levels.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with Transport, Receiving, Dispatch, Inventory, Planning, and Customer Service teams.
• Conduct regular team briefings to communicate operational priorities, performance expectations, and business objectives.
• Monitor employee productivity and performance, providing coaching, guidance, training, and corrective action where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and health and safety regulations.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards, ensuring the cross-docking area remains clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Report operational issues, delays, damages, incidents, and risks to management in a timely manner.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, reduce handling times, minimize errors, and optimize labor utilization.
• Ensure the safe and correct use of forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and other warehouse equipment.
• Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate records to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
