About The Company
The Company clears, recovers and adds value to waste and other hard-to-manage industrial waste, turning them into recovered materials and measurable ESG results for mines, cement plants, industry and government.
The role
You will make sure every audit, pilot and contract is delivered safely, on schedule and to specification. You will design the solutions that work on site and run operations through our transport, processing and local small-business partners. This is a founding leadership role in a three-person core team.
What you will do
- Lead site waste audits: Inventory counts, multi-stream waste inventories and stockpile risk ratings.
- Design solutions and logistics, and provide technical and cost inputs to proposals.
- Plan and run pilots, and report against agreed success criteria.
- Mobilise and run contracts, including collections, on-site preparation of waste, processing routes, and the quality of products and recovered materials.
- Own safety on every site: safety files, inductions, fire plans and incident management, with authority to stop unsafe work.
- Hold and renew waste and transport permits.
- Select, contract and supervise transport, processing and local small-business partners, and a contracted safety officer.
- Sign certificates of recovery.
What you bring
- 8+ years in mining operations, earthmoving, mining services, waste services or waste processing, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- An engineering degree or diploma (mechanical, mining, chemical or industrial); professional registration is an advantage.
- Strong safety leadership and working knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and OHS Act.
- Familiarity with waste legislation (NEMWA, norms and standards, licensing) is a strong advantage.
- Experience managing contractors and developing small local businesses.
- Comfortable on remote sites; valid driver's licence; mine medical fitness.
