Technical / Artisan Assistant

Truck Centre Durban, based in New Canada, Soweto, Johannesburg, is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the available position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal applicant will possess the following:-

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant mechanical qualification is an advantage.
• Sound experience in related workshops.
• Service, workshop repairs on heavy duty and light/medium vehicle.
• Experience in maintenance and repairs of heavy-duty vehicles.
• Positive team player.

JOB OUTPUTS

• Carry out routine maintenance as required on all vehicle brands.
• Test engines and other automotive components.
• Plan and work with team to ensure targets are met.
• Adhering to workshop health and safety procedures.
• Ensure required quality standard are met and maintained.
• Repairs of vehicles in accordance with specified OEM works instructions, drawings, build and quality procedures and requirements.
• Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of measuring equipment and instruments.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Normal TCD working conditions apply.

• Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Knowledge of the workshop procedures.
• Knowledge of the bus passenger industry.

Experience:

• Maintenance of IVECO heavy duty vehicles: 1 year (Preferred)
