We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, safe, and reliable technical services. We are looking for a motivated and hard-working Technical Assistant to join our growing team.
Role Overview: As an Technical Assistant, you will work directly alongside our qualified, licensed electricians. You will be responsible for preparing worksites, handling tools and materials, and performing basic electrical installations under direct supervision. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your career in the electrical / solar/ technical building services trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Load, transport, and unload tools, equipment, and materials for daily job assignments.
- Installation Support: Assist with pulling wire, bending conduit, stripping cables, and mounting electrical boxes, panels, or light fixtures.
- Maintenance & Safety: Keep the work environment clean, organised, and free of hazards. Ensure all power and hand tools are properly maintained.
- Testing Assistance: Help lead electricians test circuits for continuity and voltage using basic testing equipment.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to company safety protocols, the OHS Act, and always wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate with Mathematics or Science; an N2/N3 electrical engineering qualification or TVET College certificate is highly advantageous.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience working as an assistant or laborer in construction, engineering, or electrical fields.
- Skills: Good physical stamina (ability to lift heavy loads, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces), manual dexterity, and a strong willingness to learn.
- Driver’s License: A valid Code 8 (Class B) driver’s license is required.
- Language: Fluent in English and Afrikaans (written and spoken) to understand safety instructions and technical briefs.
- Clear criminal record
- Non-smoker
- South African citizen
