Job Purpose Summary:
To provide specialist technical expertise across the Absen LED display portfolio, supporting the business from pre-sales solution design through installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and after-sales support. The Technical Specialist will act as a key technical interface between Nology, Absen, resellers, integrators, rental and staging companies, installers and end customers.
The role is responsible for ensuring that Absen solutions are correctly specified, configured, deployed and supported, while developing the technical capability of Nology and its partner network. The Technical Specialist will contribute directly to customer satisfaction, partner confidence, service quality and sustainable growth of the Absen business
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical Pre-Sales & Solution Design
- Provide technical support to Account Managers, Business Development Managers, resellers and customers during the opportunity and quotation process.
- Understand customer requirements and translate them into appropriate Absen LED display solutions, including indoor, outdoor, commercial, ProAV, rental & staging and all-in-one applications.
- Assist with screen sizing, pixel-pitch selection, viewing-distance considerations, aspect ratios, mounting/installation requirements, power requirements and system architecture
- Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs and technical requirements to identify risks, omissions and potential installation or service issues before order placement
- Develop technical solution proposals, configuration schedules, equipment lists and deployment recommendations
- Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, proof-of-concepts and solution walk-throughs.
- Support tenders, RFPs and large project submissions with accurate technical input.
- Ensure proposed solutions are technically viable, commercially practical and aligned with Absen specifications and best practices.
Installation, Commissioning & Project Support
- Support partners and installers during installation, commissioning and handover of Absen LED display systems.
- Assist with cabinet/panel assembly, receiving-card and control-system configuration, signal distribution, power distribution and system connectivity.
- Configure and commission display systems and verify correct operation, image quality, brightness, colour consistency, refresh rate and signal integrity.
- Assist with screen calibration, configuration backup and system testing prior to customer handover.
- Develop and maintain installation and commissioning checklists to ensure consistent project quality.
- Attend critical project installations and customer sites when required, including rental, staging and event deployments.
- Identify installation defects or technical risks and coordinate corrective action with the relevant installer, partner, Absen technical team or internal department.
- Ensure project handovers include appropriate technical documentation, configuration files, operating guidance and maintenance information.
Troubleshooting, Repairs & After-Sales Support
. Act as a first-line technical escalation point for Absen-related faults and technical queries.

Diagnose LED display faults systematically, including module, cabinet, power supply, receiving card, sending/control system, signal, cabling and configuration-related issues.

Perform root-cause analysis and distinguish between hardware, software, configuration, installation and environmental issues.

Assist with module, power supply, receiving card and other component replacement and repair processes in accordance with Absen procedures.

Manage technical fault escalation to Absen where local resolution is not possible, providing complete fault descriptions, photographs, logs, configuration files and test results.

Support RMA and warranty processes by accurately documenting faults, failed components and corrective actions.

Maintain a technical knowledge base covering recurring faults, repairs, configuration issues and lessons learned.

Support preventive maintenance, inspection and service activities to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Absen Technical & Product Expertise

Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the Absen product portfolio, technologies and product roadmaps.

Maintain working knowledge of Absen indoor, outdoor, rental & staging, commercial display, ProAV and all-in-one solutions.

Become proficient in the configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting tools and control systems used with Absen displays.

Complete relevant Absen ACE engineer certification and other applicable Absen technical training.

Participate in product launches, technical workshops, factory training, certification programmes and early-access product evaluations.

Provide structured feedback to Absen on product performance, field issues, installation challenges and customer requirements.

Keep abreast of new display technologies, LED innovations, control systems, calibration methods and industry best practices.

Partner Enablement & Technical Training

Deliver regular technical training to Nology resellers, system integrators, installers, rental companies and internal sales teams.

Develop practical training covering product selection, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and best practices.

Support partners in becoming technically competent and, where applicable, achieving Absen certification.

Conduct technical workshops, product demonstrations and hands-on lab sessions.

Create and maintain technical guides, quick-reference documents, troubleshooting guides and installation checklists.

Develop a network of capable service and installation partners to support Absen projects nationally.
Service Centre & Repair Capability* Assist in establishing and maintaining Nology's Absen technical/service capability, including tools, test equipment, spare parts and repair processes.

Define minimum technical tools and equipment required for LED module and component diagnosis and repair.

Maintain accurate records of repaired, replaced and failed components to identify recurring issues.

Support spare-parts planning and provide technical input into recommended service stock levels.

Ensure repaired equipment is tested and documented before being returned to a customer or partner.

Promote standardised repair, inspection and quality-control procedures.
Vendor & Internal Stakeholder Management* Serve as a technical point of contact between Nology and Absen technical, service and engineering teams.

Escalate complex issues to Absen with clear technical evidence and maintain ownership until resolution.

Work closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Logistics and Finance to ensure technically sound project execution.

Support product forecasting and identify technical requirements for demo stock, spare parts and service inventory.

Participate in vendor business reviews, technical road mapping and product performance discussions.
Customer Experience & Business Growth* Build strong technical relationships with customers and partners and position Nology as a trusted Absen technical resource.
- Use technical expertise to identify opportunities for upgrades, additional screens, service contracts, maintenance and complementary solutions.
- Support service offerings including inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and on-site technical support.
