VSD REPAIR TECHNICIAN

Drive Dynamics is looking for a skilled VSD Repair Technician to join our team!

 

POSITION AVAILABLE:

• Centurion, Pretoria

 

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• National Diploma, N6, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation.

• Relevant technical certification in Variable Speed Drives (advantageous).

• Valid South African driver's license.

• Fluent in English (Afrikaans is advantageous).

 

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience repairing, servicing, or commissioning Variable Speed Drives (VSDs/VFDs).

• Experience with board-level electronic repairs.

• Sound understanding of AC/DC motors and motor control systems.

• Experience working with three-phase electrical systems.

• Ability to diagnose electronic and electrical faults using testing equipment.

• Experience commissioning and programming VSDs.

• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

• Experience with industrial automation and control systems is advantageous.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Fault-finding and troubleshooting of VSDs.

• Electronic component testing and replacement.

• PCB (Printed Circuit Board) repair experience.

• Use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic equipment.

• Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems (advantageous).

• Understanding of motor protection and electrical safety standards.

• Ability to install, test, and commission VSD systems.
