Job description
Job Purpose
To perform liability assessment on all Necsa facilities and to support all operational and technical activities of Decontamination & Decommissioning (D&D) facilities and to ensure that statutory and environmental requirements of the Decommissioning services are executed efficiently and cost effectively in compliance to all Nuclear licence requirements, applicable regulatory and SHEQ standards.
Key Performance Areas
Job Requirements
1. Liability Assessment
- Facility Inventory verification and reporting
- Data capturing and management
- Compilation of liability assessment reports
- Prepare new liability assessment documents
- Review inventory documents and calculations
2. SHEQ Compliance
- Managing project tasks to comply with internal Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements.
- Development and evaluation of effective strategies for technical projects e.g. licensing corporate SHEQ requirements
- Development of waste management processes to ensure all the required aspects are considered, e.g. safety, disposal options, applicable waste acceptance criteria, total liability, regulations, government policies, etc.
- Ensure that the facility specific HIRA, QA Plan, HAZOP, SAR are prepared
- Events management
3. Project Management
- Management of monthly, quarterly and annual D&D Project Performance
- D&D project Coordination
- Development of Decommissioning Strategies and Plans
- Development Project Safety Case
- Ensure that activities in projects through all the design phases: concept, design, construction/ installation, decommissioning, decontamination, handover, operation.
Key Knowledge & Skills:
- In depth knowledge and understanding of:
- Nuclear Installation License
- Necsa plants, facilities and processes.
- Radiation and Nuclear Safety
- SHEQ System
- Nuclear Energy Act
- OSH Act
- ISO 9001/14001
- Advanced knowledge of MS programmes
- Sound knowledge of Project management

Minimum Qualifications
- National Diploma (Chemical, Mechanical engineering, industrial or Information Technology).
- OR BSc Chemistry/ Natural Science
- OR Equivalent
- Minimum Experience
- Experience: At least 5 years in the design, development, construction, licensing, decommissioning and maintenance of nuclear facilities
