About the Role

Our Client is an authorised dealer of leading office automation brands, providing businesses with innovative print and document management solutions backed by responsive technical support. We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Printer Technician to join our Technical Services team to install, service, maintain, and repair multifunction printers (MFPs), copiers, and office automation equipment at client sites across Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities

- Install multifunction printers (MFPs), copiers, scanners, and related office automation equipment. - Configure network printing, scanning, email functionality, and user authentication. - Test equipment to ensure optimal performance before handover. - Provide end-user training on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting. - Perform scheduled preventative maintenance according to manufacturer standards. - Replace consumables and wear components. - Conduct routine inspections to maximise equipment uptime. - Ensure all equipment operates within manufacturer specifications. - Diagnose and repair hardware and software faults. - Troubleshoot print quality, paper feed, networking, and connectivity issues. - Replace defective components including rollers, drums, imaging units, fusers, motors, sensors, and electronic boards. - Complete repairs within agreed service level agreements (SLAs). - Respond to customer service calls promptly and provide onsite technical support. - Escalate complex issues where required. - Maintain excellent communication with clients throughout service calls. - Configure and support network printing, scan to email, scan to folder (SMB), user authentication, print management software, driver installation, firmware updates, and basic TCP/IP network connectivity. - Complete service reports accurately, update job information using the company service management system, record parts used and time spent, and maintain accurate maintenance history for customer equipment. - Deliver professional onsite support, build strong client relationships, provide recommendations for equipment optimisation, and identify upgrade opportunities.

Requirements

- Minimum 3 years' experience repairing office automation equipment. - Experience servicing multifunction printers (MFPs) and copiers. - Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. - Experience with mechanical and electronic repairs. - Good understanding of networking fundamentals. - Valid South African Driver's Licence and own reliable transport. - Computer literate. - Advantageous: OEM certification on Konica Minolta, Sharp, Ricoh, Canon, Kyocera, Xerox, Toshiba, or similar brands; Experience with Managed Print Services (MPS); Knowledge of Windows networking; Experience configuring scan-to-email and scan-to-folder; A+ or N+ certification; Electrical or Electronic qualification.

Pay: R10 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month
