Telemedicine Professional Nurse

THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Professional Nurse to join our Telemedicine team. The successful candidate will provide medical Termination of Pregnancy (TOP) services via telephonic and virtual consultations, ensuring high-quality, client-centred care while maintaining clinical excellence and confidentiality.

This role requires a nurse with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and advanced computer literacy to effectively navigate telemedicine platforms and electronic health systems.

ABOUT YOU

• YOU ARE PRO-CHOICE
• Tertiary qualification General Nursing and Midwifery
• Termination of Pregnancy Trained - Advantageous
• Experience in Sexual Reproductive Health including Termination of Pregnancy Service provision
• Experience in telemedicine/contact centre would be advantageous
• 3+ years’ experience as a Midwife
• 3+ years Family Planning
• Sound understanding of the sexual and reproductive health sector
• Intermediate to advanced computer literacy skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct telephonic and virtual consultations for clients accessing medical TOP services.
• Assess client eligibility for medical TOP according to approved clinical protocols and guidelines.
• Provide counselling, education, and support throughout the client journey.
• Accurately document client interactions and clinical notes on the relevant systems.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care where required.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.
• Utilize telemedicine platforms, electronic medical record systems, and other digital tools effectively.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working with electronic patient management systems, databases, and healthcare information systems.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new digital platforms and technology.
• Comfort working in a technology-driven environment and managing multiple systems simultaneously.

Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 17:00
Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00

After-hours consultations may be required based on service demand.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Cape Town, Western Cape
