Job description
Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in Supply Chain, Customer Services & Logistics based in Tygervalley . The successful incumbent will report to the Customer Services Manager.
The purpose of this position: The Telesales Agent is responsible for driving revenue growth through proactive outbound and inbound sales activities, delivering exceptional customer experience while identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities. The role focuses on ensuring alignment with the Sales Teams and building customer relationships, understanding customer needs, and promoting value-based solutions that align with commercial objectives and business performance targets.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct proactive outbound sales calls to generate revenue and achieve sales targets.
- Identify and maximise cross-sell and upsell opportunities by matching products and services to customer needs.
- Apply consultative selling techniques to understand customer requirements and recommend tailored solutions.
- Deliver persuasive and value-based sales pitches that promote product benefits and brand value.
- Manage customer objections professionally using structured objection-handling techniques to secure sales outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records within Salesforce.
- Take ownership of personal sales performance, KPIs, conversion rates, and revenue targets and collaborate closely with Sales Rep to ensure achievement of shared KPIs.
- Prioritise high-value sales opportunities and manage pipeline activities effectively to optimise results.
- Represent the brand positively during all customer interactions, building trust and strengthening customer relationships.
- Perform Sales Rep relief and customer retention calls
- Adhere to contact centre operational standards, including productivity targets, quality assurance requirements, call handling standard
- Continuously analyse performance gaps and sales challenges using problem-solving techniques such as the TPM 5 WHY methodology to improve outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
- Matric
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a telesales, contact centre, or customer sales environment.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets, conversion rates, and revenue-related KPIs.
- Experience in cross-selling, upselling, and consultative selling within a customer-facing environment.
- Experience using CRM systems and sales performance tools to manage customer interactions, pipelines, and reporting.
