Temporary General Worker (Herold, Garden Route)

Description

SSK is seeking a highly reliable and motivated Temporary General Worker to join our Grain Department in Herold for the upcoming peak harvest season. This role is vital to maintaining operational efficiency, safety, and hygiene standards during our busiest time of the year. The ideal candidate will perform manual labour, support food safety protocols, and execute general operational tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties

• Housekeeping & Hygiene: Perform general cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation to uphold facility hygiene and grain quality standards.
• Manual Labour & Operations: Handle physical operational duties, including heavy manual labour and assisting with grain movement during the harvest period.
• Safety & Compliance: Assist in executing risk management practices and strict food safety protocols across all daily operations.
• Communication & Support: Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members to support smooth seasonal workflow.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements

• Education: Grade 12/Matric qualification required.
• Physical & Mental Fitness: Must be in excellent physical and mental health, capable of heavy lifting, and physically resilient.
• Work Environment Adaptability: Comfortable working long hours in dusty, physically demanding outdoor and warehouse environments.
• Work Ethic: Highly reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and team-oriented.

Preferred/Advantageous Skills

• Driver's License: Valid Code EB driving license.
• Equipment Handling: Prior experience driving or operating a tractor is a significant advantage.
