Tier 2 Technical Support / Systems Administrator
Location: Benoni
Salary: R16 000 per month
Department: IT Support (Support Division)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Tier 2 Technical Support / Systems Administrator to provide advanced technical support, systems administration, and infrastructure support. The successful candidate will act as the escalation point for Tier 1 support, ensuring efficient resolution of technical issues and maintaining core IT systems.Key Responsibilities
- Resolve escalated technical incidents and service requests.
- Administer Active Directory, Microsoft 365, user accounts, and permissions.
- Support Windows Server environments and Group Policy management.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and business applications.
- Perform endpoint management, patching, and software updates.
- Assist with server administration, backups, virtual environments, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Monitor systems, investigate recurring issues, and recommend improvements.
- Support IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Mentor Tier 1 technicians and promote best practices.
- Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- Microsoft Certification (Modern Desktop, Azure, or Microsoft 365) or equivalent
Experience
- 3 to 5 years' experience in IT Support or Systems Administration
- Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration
- Windows Server support
- Desktop and endpoint support
- Hardware troubleshooting and user administration
- Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Entra ID
- VMware or Hyper-V
- PowerShell
- DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies
- Microsoft Intune and endpoint management platforms
