Toolroom Supervisor

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing all tool maintenance and repair functions within the Tool Room, under the guidance of the assigned Tool Room Manager. This role is critical in ensuring that tooling is maintained to the highest standards to support efficient and uninterrupted production.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent;
• Trade-test Tool, Jig and Die making

Experience Required

• Minimum 5 years experience as a qualified Tool, Jig and Die Maker.
• Must have experience in injection mould-making, casting and metal press tooling.
• Proven experience in a toolroom environment, preferably in a supervisory role.

Key Responsibilities

Tooling Maintenance (responsible):

• Receiving and dispatching of all tools in the maintenance section of the Toolroom.
• Prioritise tool maintenance work in conjunction with the Toolroom Manager and production teams.
• Completion of tool maintenance work within planned timelines and correct technical requirements.
• Evaluate the complexity of the tool maintenance work required for the correct allocation of resources.
• Issue job cards from the CuroQuip system to the relevant personnel.
• Ensure that all job cards are captured within 24 hours of completion of work.
• Evaluate the condition of tools received and red-flag tools nearing their working life.
• Storage and management of critical spares required for the tool maintenance section.
• Effective communication with the Toolroom Manager on spares that require to be manufactured for tool maintenance work.
• Perform on-the-job training of employees as and when required within the Toolroom Personnel Management (Responsible):
• Any human resource challenge to be effectively communicated to the Toolroom Manager.

Pay: R144,00 - R201,00 per hour
