Location: Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve (Atlantis Dunes), Western Cape
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time / Seasonal

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible and customer-focused Tour Guide / Adventure Activities Guide to join our new adventure tourism operation at the Atlantis Dunes.

The successful candidate will guide and supervise guests participating in quad-bike tours, 4x4 Jeep tours and sandboarding, while ensuring a safe, professional and enjoyable experience.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome and assist guests throughout their experience.
Conduct safety briefings and explain activity procedures.
Lead and supervise customer-operated quad-bike tours.
Drive and conduct guided 4x4 Jeep tours safely and professionally.
Instruct and supervise guests during sandboarding activities.
Conduct pre-use safety and equipment checks.
Ensure guests follow all safety rules, designated routes and reserve regulations.
Monitor weather and environmental conditions and stop activities where necessary.
Assist with emergencies and follow established first-aid and evacuation procedures.
Report incidents, equipment damage or safety concerns.
Provide excellent customer service and information about the area and activities.

Requirements

Recognised/official Tour Guide qualification and training.
Valid Western Cape Government Tour Guide Card – essential.
First Aid certification
Valid driver's licence and PrDP where applicable.
Previous tourism, hospitality or outdoor/adventure experience.
Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
Strong safety awareness and ability to manage groups.
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
Professional, reliable and well-presented.

Advantageous: Quad-bike/ATV experience, 4x4/off-road driving experience, sandboarding experience and knowledge of the Atlantis Dunes/Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve.

Important

Applicants must have a valid Western Cape Government Tour Guide Card and recognised Tour Guide qualification. Successful candidates will also be required to complete the company's safety and operational training before conducting tours independently.
