Tractor Driver (Milnerton)

We are looking for a Tractor Driver to join our dynamic and dedicated Racing Department based at our Milnerton Training Centre. The successful incumbent will be responsible for operating tractors and specialised attachments to maintain and prepare the racecourse, training tracks, and surrounding grounds to the highest standards.

The Tractor Driver will carry out a variety of turf and track maintenance activities, including grass cutting, spraying, aerating, fertilising, annual scarifying, and grading of dirt roads using specialised tractor attachments. The role also includes transporting and positioning starting stalls for race meetings, assisting with minor repairs and maintenance of track machinery and equipment, and ensuring all machinery is operated safely and efficiently. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Track Estate Manager.

What You'll Do

Tractor Driver

· Cut grass with Wessex mower

· Spray grass with spray tank attachment

· Use the aerating attachments to make holes

· Fertilise the grass using the fertiliser attachment

· Use Taarup and Amazon attachments during annual scarifying

· Use the grader blade to level out the dirt road

· Moving the starting stalls to various start positions on race day

· Assist track machine minder with minor equipment repairs

What You’ll Need

· Three (3) –five (5) years’ experience in a similar role

· Standard 8/ Grade 10/ Equivalent (advantageous).

· Must be able and physically fit (required).

· A valid Code 10 driver’s license (advantageous).

· A tractors license.

· A clear criminal record.

· Reliable transport to enable him/ her to travel to and from work.
